Streets of Andalusia

I know I have been a bit absent in updating the blog. The reason for this is twofold; vacation and becoming a house owner.

However tiresome the pictures of my new house might be to the general public, some might find my street shots from my vacation more fun.

We lived near Lake Vinuela just 40 km outside Malaga in Spain.  The nature was breathtaking, and I’ll do a follow up with a post containing landscape photos (Yes the X-Pro1 / x100s works quite well for this too). For now I’ll leave you with some street images taken in parts in the countryside, in parts in the streets of Torre Del Mar, and Velez Malaga.

All images was taken with the X-Pro1 w/ 35mm f/1.4, or the x100s. Some were converted to black and white in LR. The color versions are processed using VSCO Film Fuji Superia with a cutom yellow tone tweak.

I must say these cameras are amazing travel companions!

  1. Enjoyable images, Jonas! Looks like you captured some “decisive moments”. I also agree with you on the combination of cameras. I have the X-E1 & 1,4/35mm and the X100S. The X-E1 combo is new (to me) and I got to put to some work for the first time last night for a local non-profit. Love the little extra focal length that the 35mm (52mm in FF) & X-E1 provide but would like a couple of things changed that the X100S gives me. Specifically, I enjoy the momentary (0.5 sec) flash of the image after the shot that the X100S provides. The X-E1, however, can only go as short as 1.5 seconds. For me that is just too long. I am sure it is something that could be taken care of in a firmware update. On focus peaking, it is just OK on the X-E1 where I find the X100S’ focus peaking to be quite usable. What are your thoughts on these two items?

    1. Hi Rich.

The fous peaking on my x-pro1 has really helped with the legacy glass. I do, however, still zoom x3. But combined with the peaking, its nearly 100% accurate for me.

The x100s just works! Every time. It’s super fast, and AF is very good. the 35mm eq is so nice for street, so I always carry them both 😀

The slow sync flash is GENIOUS! f/2 and flash in full sunlight, looks fantastic!

Makes me look less stealthy, but who cares, as long as you get the shot right? 😉

Thank you for reading the blog.

  2. I have been reading your blog for a while and wow! what a surprise! we live in the same city! Nice pictures!

  3. Tasty treat for the eyes .
..hey!! Do you happen to know that , whether fuji xt1 supports high speed flash sync ? I love to shoot with the xt1 and xf35mm combo…but on bright day light when the sun is at its peak i have to cight with the shadows while shooting portraits wide open…
