Smukfest 2015

In the beginning of August my wife and I attended the Smukfest music festival just 20 km from our home. We brought the kids a couple of afternoons for them to enjoy the music and the scenery, but went by ourselves over the weekend.

We had never previously attended Smukfest, but we rather unamiously agreed that it would not be the last time.

I thought long and hard about what camera to bring to the festival, since I was set on having a system that would allow me to party like it was ’99 but still get some shots of a somewhat memorable character. The choice landed on the Fujifilm X-T10 along with the trusty Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4. This turned out to be the right choice on soooooo many levels!

Although nothing on that camera is weatherselaed, it did survive an amazing amount of dust and beer. I brought it to the mosh-pit, to the clubscenes and to the food corners. It is an amazingly versatile combination.

Smukfest was amazing. The bands, the people, the scenery. Everything. We’ll be back next year for sure!

  1. Lovely pictures!
Although the x-t10 is great I think the X100s is just unbeatable for this kind of stuff anyway. I got mine three months ago and lately I never carry any interchangeable lens camera with me. It’s just so annoying!

    1. I agree Matteo. But the 23mm is just a little too wide for use at concerts. That little bit of extra reach that the 35 gives was actually the deciding factor. On a day-to-day basis I always carry the X100T 🙂
