Packshots

Back in June Charlene Winfred, Flemming Bo Jensen and I took a day out of our calendars to make some promo-material for the X-T2. As well as some mini-videos we also did a slightly longer video outlining how I do my productshots for my reviews, as well as for the Fujifilm-X.com banners. The two of them did a completely awesome job with the video which you can see below:

I have had some questions as to what kind of gear I use for this, so I thought I would post a little something about it here.

I use 2 softboxes from Lastolite. They’re 60x60cm and 30×30 cm.

I shoot 2 Nissin i40’s in manual mode with Cactus V5 triggers. I’m going to upgrade to V6mk2 soon to get full benefit of HHS functions etc.

Watch the video about the process if you havn’t already. Any questions, I’ll happily answer in the comments. Have a great weekend.

    1. Hey Phil.

Thank you very much for reading. And thank you for the heads up. That particular image, among others, was part of a pack commissioned by Fujifilm as marketing for blogs etc for the XT2 launch. So I think Petapixel got them sent via the press department.

      Take care man.

  1. It’s so simple and so why so beautiful. I like that approach, that you don’t need a lot of lights to make such great product shots. How much time did you spend on post in LR for all these photos?

  2. How about give us a product photography workshop, Jonas?
I am one of them who asked you about the lighting and shooting skills of these photos. They are just gorgeous.
Which material do you use as the background? some tips or parameters about post processing?
Really looking forward to your answer.

  3. Hi Jonas,
Great images! Interesting and elegant process.
    Many thanks for sharing this.
    BTW,
How do get the surroungs so dark/black?
Do you block out all daylight and photoshop black any remaining visible surroundings?
