So how does this 56mm f/1.2 stack up on the streets? Well. Still sharp, still thin DOF, still an AMAZING piece of glass. Fast to AF, accurate to boot, and overall just hands down the best lens Fujifilm has made to date.
The below are all the shots taken today, in chronological order. Taken with my X-Pro1 with the 56mm wide open at f/1.2. The hit rate is phenomenal!

Hi Terence.
This lens is MUCH MUCH sharper. It lacks the soft glowy character that many of these vintage lenses posseses. Then of course it has its autofocus. Two different beasts.
Build and quality is up there with the Takumars and Leicas.

Great photos, and a really interesting blog. What’s your take on the X-T1, have you considered replacing the X-Pro1 with it, or do you prefer the X-Pro1 with it’s different layout and OVF? Would be really interesting to try those old manual focus lenses with X-T1’s dual EVF (with magnification) and focus peaking.
